‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Dobaara’ Box Office Collection: Akshay Starrer Earning Declines in Week 2

Independence Day release, "Once Upon A Time in Mumbai Dobaara" (OUATIMD) raked in a little more than ₹1 crore on second Friday. After being overshadowed by Shah Rukh Khan starrer "Chennai Express", Akshay Kumar starrer is now facing competition from latest release, "Madras Café".
The crime thriller, which minted approximately ₹54.25 crore within nine days of its release, failed to live up to the expectation but is on the verge of overtaking the lifetime collection figures of its prequel "Once Upon A Time in Mumbaai" which featured Ajay Devgn and Emraan Hashmi in the lead roles.
Akshay Kumar, Sonakshi Sinha and Imran Khan starrer raked in good revenues from Mumbai and Delhi circuits but "Chennai Express" outperformed it in other circuits.
The film, whose production cost is more than ₹90 crore, is expected to collect ₹70 - ₹75 crore in India. The makers can meet the production cost if the domestic and overseas total touch ₹90 crore.
