Actor Om Puri was accused of domestic violence following a complaint lodged by wife Nandita Puri. The police reached Om Puri’s home to arrest him but he was missing. The investigation officer Harishchandra Parmale, senior police inspector of Versova police station said, “the police had gone to the actor’s house to arrest him on Friday, but he was not there. Currently the police are tracing the actor through his cellphone. ” According to Nandita Puri’s complaint, Om Puri had beaten her with a stick and also threatened her.
There have been issues between the couple for quite some time now. In 2009, Nandita released her biography (Unlikely Hero: Story of Om Puri) on the veteran actor which revealed about his affair with his maid. Also a little before that, there were problems between Om and Nandita when the actor’s first wife Seema had returned his life in 2008. Om had married Seema in 1990 but the couple was together only for three years after which they divorced.
